The two-day kayaking package in Ruunaa is ideal for groups of friends or families. The package includes two nights’ accommodation and a guided kayaking trip on the second day. On the day of arrival, the program is self-guided. Accommodation is in the cabins of the Ruunaa Hiking Center, located right next to Neitikoski. Here you can go rapids fishing, hike on the trails, ride a mountain bike, enjoy the sauna, or even go swimming. Fishing permits are available from the Eräluvat website and also from the reception desk at the hiking center. You can also inquire about renting the sauna there.
The package includes a guided kayaking trip on the second day, which also includes transportation. Kayaking is done in stable sit-on-top kayaks, which are very stable. Even beginners can go kayaking with them. At the beginning of the trip, there will be a short introduction to kayaking, and a kayaking guide will accompany you throughout the trip.
Depending on the group’s wishes, you can choose between 15 km, 12 km, or 6 km kayaking routes. Part of the route is in flowing water, which carries the paddlers along and makes paddling effortless. We do not paddle in rapids on these trips. If all participants have experience in whitewater paddling, we can also go down rapids.
The starting point for the kayaking trip is above the Ruuna rapids, from where you will paddle down to Paasikoski. We reserve the right to change the route, interrupt or cancel the kayaking trip if conditions so require. We have never had to cancel a trip, but safety comes first. If the entire canoeing trip has to be canceled, 50% of the total price of the travel package will be refunded.
Accommodation on this trip is in the hiking center’s cabins, which can accommodate 1-3 people. The price of the package is lower the more people stay in one hut. The huts are equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and kettle. Bed linen is not included in the package, so it is advisable to bring a sleeping bag or rent bed linen from the reception, or it can be included in the travel package if you wish. Guests staying in the huts have access to a shared service building with toilets and showers. There is also a covered campfire site near the huts. Cottage accommodation is also available, ask for a quote!
