Musta Mäntyjärvi – Ruunaa On this two-night fishing trip, you can enjoy not only fishing but also the peace and quiet of nature and kayaking. On the first evening, we will be fishing for large pike and perch in Musta Mäntyjärvi, and on the second day, we will also be fishing for rainbowtrout in the Ruunaa whirlpools. Transportation from Joensuu can also be purchased for an additional fee. The trip will mainly take place between August 15 and October 11, 2026. Ask about available dates!

Booking fee
Two-night fishing trip to Mustamäntyjärvi and Ruunaa for a minimum of four people. The first fishing destination, Mustamäntyjärvi, is reached in the afternoon by private transport. Customers have the option of fishing with their own wading gear, fishing kayaks, or a rowboat (1 rowboat available at the destination). Musta Mäntyjärvi is well suited for wading fishing, as there are relatively few casting spots when fishing directly from the shore.
The guide will advise you on the best wading spots and how to use the fishing kayaks, and will accompany those fishing from kayaks to get them started. After the initial instruction, fishing is independent.
While you fish, the guide will prepare dinner over a campfire. After dinner, you can continue fishing independently.
You will spend the night in a hut in your own sleeping bags or, alternatively, in your own tent, hammock, or motorhome. The destination is easily accessible by car, but there is no electricity.
On the second day, there is time to fish until noon, after which we will move on to Ruunaa.
Accommodation at Ruunaa is in hut that can sleep 3-4 people. The barns have electric heating, bunk beds, a refrigerator, microwave, and kettle. There are shared outdoor toilets between the huts and toilets and showers in the maintenance building. Bed linen and final cleaning are not included in the price.
In Ruunaa, you will be taken by shared transport to Haapavitja, where you will fish for 4-5 hours in kayaks under the guidance of a guide. During the trip, there is an opportunity to eat by the fire. After fishing, we return to the accommodation, where the rest of the evening is free for activities such as independent fishing at Neitikoski. The target fish species are mainly rainbow trout, pikeperch, pike, and perch. Ruunaa’s fish stocks also include ide, whitefish, grayling, and trout.
The price of the package includes the rental of Mustan Mäntyjärvi, kayak rentals on both days, guide services, 1 x outdoor meal, and transportation in Ruunaa. Additional services available for purchase include transportation from Joensuu, fishing equipment rental, additional meals, sauna sessions, sleeping bag rental, and bed linen for Ruunaa.
