There is plenty to do in the autumn nature!
An organized day trip to Musta Mäntyjärvi, where there will be 4 hours of enjoyment in the forest and lakes of autumumn. You may pick berries and mushrooms, paddle with kanoes or kayaks, go fish, or have a snack by the campfire. Guides will be there to help you get started, but mainly the activities are self-directed.

Join us to Musta Mäntyjärvi and enjoy the autumn nature. We will help you get started, guiding as needed, so you may take your time independently hiking, picking berries and mushrooms, fishing, paddling or just roasting sausages by the campfire.
The terrain of Musta and Valkea Mäntyjärvi is dry, open coniferous forest. Short footpaths criss-cross the beautiful rolling terrain through which you can take short walks in lakeland landscapes. Forest floor has plenty of lingonberries and on the ridges crowberry can be found. Mushroom hunters might find chanterelles (Cantharellus cibarius), porcino (Boletus edulis) and funnel wafers (Cantharellus tubaeformis).
In the lakes large perch and pikes live. It is possible to lure them with a fishing rod from the beach, a rowboat, a canoe or from a kayak. If you prefer to just paddle; the lakes offer a sheltered environment within the natural landscape.
By the campsite there are two places for campfires, one outside and another inside a hut. For guests there is a coffeepot, a smoker, some frying pans, kettles, sandwich grills and sticks for frying sausages. Preparing meals on open flame is always an experience but please remember to bring your own snacks!
The trip includes transportation from Joensuu to Musta Mäntyjärvi and back to Joensuu, use of campsite, use of rowboat, kanoe and kayaks, and fishing permit to Musta mäntyjärvi. There are also fishing rods and bait at the campsite.
Please note, that the national fisheries management fee is not included, which is required for fishing with reel and lure. You may still fish with a simple rod-and-line without it.
Price 65 € / person. Students -20 % (52 €). Student discount is taken into account in the final payment, bring your stundent identification with you.
Schedule for the day:
12:00 Departure from Joensuu Market Hall
13:00 Arrival to Musta Mäntyjärvi
13-17:00 Camping, hiking, fishing etc. independedly
17:00 Return transportation to Joensuu
approximately 18:00 back in Joensuu
Booking fee 10 € is paid in the online shop. The remainder is paid upon departure in the Järven Taiga shop. Please note, that in case of cancellation of the reservation the booking fee is not refunded.
