The two-day fishing package in Ruunaa is ideal for groups of friends or families. The fishing spots at Neitikoski are just a few minutes’ walk from the accommodation. On the day of arrival, the program includes independent fishing. The package includes a guided canoeing and fishing trip on the second day, which also includes transportation. If not all participants want to go canoeing, they can come along to Paasikoski and fish there and at Haapavitja for the day.
The canoeing trip allows you to enjoy the wilderness of the Ruunaa area from the water. Kayaks also allow you to reach places that are inaccessible to fishermen from the shore. Canoeing downstream is easy and relaxing. The chances of a good catch on these trips are high.
The canoeing trip starts above the Ruuna rapids, from where you can canoe and fish your way down to Paasikoski. There are no rapids on the way, but there are plenty of nice currents that carry you along nicely. The fish stock is the same as further downstream, meaning you can catch grayling, rainbow trout, brown trout, ide, pike, pikeperch, and perch. The lakes at the beginning of the route are particularly good for pike and zander, while salmonids are more likely to be caught in the rapids. The kayaks are stable and safe fishing kayaks, which even beginners can paddle with confidence under the guidance of a guide.
Accommodation on this trip is in cabins at the Hiking Center, which can accommodate 1-3 people. The price of the package is lower the more people stay in one cabin. The huts are equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and kettle. Bed linen is not included in the package, so it is advisable to bring a sleeping bag or rent bedding from the reception. Guests staying in the huts have access to a shared service building with toilets and showers. There is also a covered campfire site near the huts.
Fishing permits are not included in the package, but can be purchased from the Eräluvat online store or the Ruunaa Hiking Center reception. Breakfast can also be purchased from the hiking center, and a sauna can be rented.
