Paddling Adventure in Ilomantsi, 3 days

The Ilomantsi paddling adventure is suitable for both beginners and more experienced paddlers. Our routes take us through peaceful and scenic lake landscapes on Lake Nuorajärvi and Lake Petkeljärvi in Petkeljärvi National Park, and a short stretch through the Möhkö landscape on the Koitajoki River. The daily paddling trips are about 10 km long and are completed at a leisurely pace. The canoeing equipment consists of stable single and double kayaks, and the equipment can be supplemented with touring kayaks and canoes if necessary. The canoeing adventure in Ilomantsi is designed for groups of 8-12 people. Minimum charge for 8 people. The price includes 3 nights’ accommodation at Manta Guesthouse, 2 x breakfasts, canoeing trips with a guide, kayak rental with equipment, and outdoor lunches on canoeing days. (Lunches are taste of nature). The trip is available in May, June, August, and September. Ask about availability by phone or email!

Program:

Day 1

Arrival at Manta Guesthouse, check-in. Opportunity to explore the old ironworks area on your own, fish at the Möhkö rapids, enjoy the sauna, have an evening snack, and participate in other additional activities listed below. The above activities are not included in the package price, so it is advisable to book them well in advance. In the evening, you can also arrange a meeting with the canoeing instructor to finalize the group schedules.

Day 2

A brief introduction to paddling equipment, paddling, and departure for the paddling adventure. The route runs from Möhkö along the Koitajoki River to Lake Nuorajärvi, where we will paddle to Jänissaari Island for lunch in a hut. After lunch, we will paddle closer to Lake Petkeljärvi to Oinassalmi, where we will land and return to Manta Guesthouse by minibus. Additional services, such as meals, can be purchased for the evening program.

Day 3

In the morning, we will depart by minibus to Petkeljärvi (7 km), where we will paddle from Oinassalmi to the Petkeljärvi National Park Center. At the center, we will prepare and eat lunch over a campfire. After lunch, we will paddle back a few kilometers to the pick-up point, from where we will be transported by car to Manta Guesthouse. For the evening program, it is possible to purchase additional services such as sauna, dinner, and evening snack.

We reserve the right to change the route if weather conditions require it.

Price:

Starting from €415 per person (minimum group size 8 people)

Reservation fee €83 per person. The final amount must be paid no later than 14 days before the start of the trip.

Breakfast is included in the price: Bread; brown, white, rolls, spread, cheese, cold cuts, salad, cucumber and tomato, porridge, yogurt, cereal and muesli, jam, boiled eggs, milk, water, juice, fresh juice, coffee, tea, and cookies. If your group is having breakfast on several mornings, we will make sure that there is variety in the breakfast menu.

Mantan Majatalo also has a party and meeting room, Lanssi-sali, which serves as a restaurant for our groups. The space can also be used as a common lounge area, if needed, by separate agreement. The hall can seat 50-60 people. Delicious home-style everyday meals and festive meals are served buffet style. We take special diets into account based on information provided in advance. Lactose-free diets are automatically taken into account. The restaurant operates on a reservation basis, so please book your meals well in advance, preferably when booking your trip.

Accommodation:

Mantan Majatalo is located in a peaceful and scenic spot in the village of Möhkö on the banks of the Koitajoki River. Accommodation is provided in cozy, spacious, and homely apartments. The apartments are located on two floors. There are three apartments available. Some of the apartments are also suitable for wheelchair users.
